“Sigue Sigue Sputnik was originally a British cyberpunk bank?!” Bank? They were a band. I heard a rumor back then that the original lineup included Billy Idol before he broke off and went on a solo career.
Going back to the title of this entry, AW C’MON!!! Someone like you who reached musical consciousness during the 80s had no idea about Sigue Sigue Sputnik or their hit, “Love Missile F-11″? It was one of the most overplayed songs back then in the radios. The video was a mish-mash of images from news broadcast (images of rocket launches and stuff). The new generation of peeps nowadays wouldn’t care who they were, much less who the street gang that bore their name was.
